MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - It’s a story FOX10 News continues to follow.

We’ve obtained the crash report of a deadly wreck that involved a Mobile Police Officer.

Back on March 29, 67-year-old motorcyclist Robert Sayen was killed.

Sayen and the officer collided at the intersection of Zeigler Boulevard and Cody Road.

The traffic lights were malfunctioning at the time of the crash, flashing yellow and red.

According to the report, the MPD officer was going an estimated 56 miles per hour through the intersection.

16 miles per hour over the posted 40 miles per hour speed limit.

MPD has been relatively silent on the case, only saying the officer involved was taken off the streets and put on desk duty, while the case remains under investigation.

The crash was caught on surveillance video.

Several witnesses and 911 callers claimed the officer left the scene.

The diagram shows Sayen as Unit 1 going North on Cody with red flashing lights.

It shows the officer as Unit 2 going West on Zeigler with yellow flashing lights.

The report says Sayen failed to yield the right-of-way.

Further down in the report, it says a contributing factor in the crash was the officer driving “over the speed limit.”

FOX10 News did not find anything in the report that says the officer left the scene.

Days after the crash, a Mobile spokesperson said a city worker was en route to the intersection to fix the malfunctioning lights when the crash happened.

We reached out to Mobile Police to find out if the officer was still on desk duty, but didn’t get a response.

There is a GoFundMe for Sayen if you’d like to help the family.
