WASHTENAW COUNTY -- Ypsilanti Township and Ann Arbor have joined efforts in fighting potentially harmful algae blooms in Ford and Belleville lakes.

For the purposes of studying ways to eliminate or reduce the blue-green algae blooms, the township and Ann Arbor’s Wastewater Treatment Plant will work together to monitor, collect and share water quality information on the lakes, per a memorandum of understanding the Ypsilanti Township Board of Trustees approved at its meeting Tuesday night.
