HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) – Virginia authorities say a 15-year-old girl who was believed to have been abducted from her home by a family member has been found safe.

Police say preliminary information shows 15-year-old Ronique Channel Poteat was seen at 11:10 p.m. Wednesday leaving an apartment in Richmond with her half-brother, 23-year-old Tyrell Davenport, who police believe to have abducted her.

Poteat was said to be in “extreme danger,” according to an AMBER Alert issued Thursday morning by Virginia State Police.

According to the Henrico County Division of Police, Poteat was found by officers during a traffic stop on Interstate 95 South near Chamberlayne Avenue at around 10:20 p.m. on Thursday. The woman who was driving the vehicle was charged with abduction of a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, obstruction of justice and accessory after the fact in a felony. Police said the woman and Poteat knew each other.

Police have not been able to locate Tyrell Ashley Davenport, who is believed to have taken Poteat. Davenport was last seen wearing a dark blue zip-up hoodie, dark blue jeans and black Timberland boots.
