Two people suffered serious injuries as the result of a crash Tuesday night, April 16, 2024, on Newport Gap Pike.
The collision occurred around 8:15 p.m. in front of the Westminster neighborhood north of Hercules Road.
The drivers of both cars were trapped in their vehicles for about 20 minutes while rescue crews from several area fire companies worked to extricate them.
A 27-year old man in a small pick up truck was flown to Christiana Hospital by a Delaware State Police helicopter.
An 18-year old man driving a car was taken to Christiana by ambulance.
Delaware State troopers are investigating the crash.
