National Volunteer Week at the library

0

The Jackson County Public Library will celebrate National Volunteer Week Sunday through April 27. During this week, the library appreciates everyone who has volunteered their time and service from April 2023 to March 2024.

The library thanks volunteers who supplement staff in programs. The library also recognizes current and former Friends of the Library board members including Joyce Fouts, Sandi Hall, Diane Kemling, Lori McDonald, January Rutherford and Sally Schwein-Wicks along with the many Friends members who have volunteered for the Book Nook, bi-monthly sales and Oktoberfest parking.

Anyone 13 years old or older may fill out an application to become a library volunteer. Applications are available at all library locations or at myjclibrary.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Volunteer-Brochure-4-26-21.pdf.

Any adult working directly with children under age 18 are required to complete an Indiana State Police background check.

For information about volunteer opportunities at the library, contact Circulation Manager Christina Hime at 812-405-1832 or [email protected].

Volunteer opportunities at the libraries in Seymour, Crothersville, and Medora are listed at myjclibrary.org/volunteer-opportunities/.
