A 4-year-old boy was killed Sunday afternoon when he was struck by a drunken driver in LeFlore County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The 18-year-old man from Heavener reportedly was driving a 2006 Kia Sedona east on U.S. 270 south of Wister when he ran off the road near 250th Avenue and hit the child just before 2 p.m.
The child was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said. They cited driving under the influence as the cause of the crash.
