DEEP EAST TEXAS (KTRE) - It will be cloudy, mild, and humid with overnight lows only dropping down to around 70-degrees by Thursday morning.

There are signs that the atmosphere may mix out a bit on Thursday, leading to some sunshine finally peeking through the clouds. Any sunshine we see will quickly boost our daytime highs into the middle 80′s.

Wake-up temperatures will be near 70 with daytime highs topping out in the middle 80′s, putting us several degrees warmer than normal for this time of year.

A slightly stronger storm system looks to finally steer a cold front in our direction by this weekend. That cold frontal passage late Saturday and into early Sunday will bring us our next best chance of rain to deep east Texas. It looks like late Saturday afternoon through early Sunday morning is when we will have the best window at seeing our next notable rainfall here in the Piney Woods.

Rainfall amounts will average around one-to-two inches before cooler, drier air returns for the second half of your weekend on Sunday.

The brief return of cool, northeasterly breezes will bring our lows back down into the 50′s and highs in the 60′s on Sunday before more sunshine and highs in the 70′s make for some great, late April weather come next week as we should see more blue skies return to our part of the state.
