LIZ JONES: You should never have a bridesmaid younger, thinner and more beautiful than you

At the weekend Margot Robbie was bridesmaid to her best friend from school. She just looked so good. Shoehorned into halter-neck ivory silk to match her hair, she moved like mercury. So what is the etiquette here? Should you ever choose a beautiful bridesmaid, even if, like Margot, she is happily married? Should you ever choose someone younger, thinner, and way more successful than you? Or can you legitimately leave her out on the grounds it's your day and yours alone?

In an interview with Times Radio host Stig Abell this morning he said: 'When it comes to Nato if you ask my opinion, it's not, like I'm not really an expert I don't have a lot of knowledge on it, to be honest. Of my brief understanding of Nato, right, it's there to protect the, you know, the European Union, isn't it? It's there to protect, you know, everyone in the European Union. Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe reopens war of words with JK Rowling over trans views

Daniel Radcliffe (left) has reignited a row with JK Rowling (right) over trans views by saying his beliefs don't have to align with the author's just because she made him a star. The actor, 34, and fellow Harry Potter stars Emma Watson, 34, and Rupert Grint, 35, have been outspoken in their support of gender ideology - that biologically male trans women are actually women. Yet although Radcliffe admitted 'nothing in my life' would likely have happened if not for beloved author Rowling, 58, he said that didn't mean he didn't owes her 'the things he truly believes'. Despite the multi-millionaire's view that trans women are women, just this week it was revealed the NHS will declare sex is biological. It came after the Cass report found there is 'remarkably weak evidence' for gender-affirming techniques in children such as puberty blockers. It also said that  'for the majority of young people, a medical pathway may not be the best way' to help when they are 'presenting with gender incongruence or distress'.

EXCLUSIVESickening moment van driven by sword-wielding maniac smashes into pedestrian at start of terrifying 22-minute rampage that left schoolboy, 14, dead

This is the sickening moment a van ploughs into a pedestrian in the first moments of a nightmarish rampage by swordsman which left a 14-year-old boy dead. Footage captured on a doorbell camera shows a van driven by a 36-year-old suspect careering off a road and into a house in Hainault, east London, hitting a passerby in the process. Blood-curdling screams, which MailOnline has removed from the video above as they are so disturbing, can be heard piercing the air in the immediate aftermath of the crash on the corner of New North Road and Laing Close involving the dark grey vehicle just before 7am. It marked the beginning of the terrifying 22-minute ordeal in the quiet streets during which a teenage boy was stabbed to death and four other people, including two police officers, wounded as a knifeman went on the rampage. Graphic footage shared online shows the suspect dragging the body of the child across a road in a quiet residential street, moments after hacking him to death with a samurai sword in front of horrified neighbours. Witnesses said the schoolboy 'died on the spot' after having a sword nearly 2ft in length swung at his head as part of what police believe to be a 'random' attack. The suspect, clad in a yellow hoodie, was seen prowling the streets and climbing onto rooftops after dumping the van 100 metres away in a cul-de-sac, as police swarmed the area in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The nightmare was brought to an end when the suspect wielding the huge weapon was tasered by hero unarmed police officers, with the dramatic arrest being caught on CCTV.

The 36-year-old suspect had rammed his van into a house near Hainault Tube station early this morning before allegedly slashing at members of the public and police officers who responded.

This is the shocking moment a bridge collapsed while a mayor recorded a video addressing the dangers of a storm in the southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. The pressure from the water that overflowed from the Barramansa Stream appeared to pick up strength and suddenly knocked the bridge off its foundation. 'This is our situation. See, being carried away by the forces of the waters,' Santa Tereza Mayor Gisele Caumo said. 'So, I ask you to be careful, cautious, especially when traveling. I ask everyone's full attention to the situation on the bridge.'

Inside Indonesia's last-ditch $30billion bid to move 2MILLION people from sinking capital

Seen from above, the prospective new capital of Indonesia is little more than a network of track roads and concrete exoskeletons today. But the southeast Asian country, home to more than 275 million people, hopes desperately for Nusantara to be ready to house its first 6,000 residents by October, with Jakarta slowly dissolving into the sea 1,200 miles away. With 40 per cent of the capital already below sea level, some 10.6 million people in the inner city (and 30 million in the wider area) could face displacement - and urgently need a longer-term solution.

Watch where you're going! Heart-stopping moment driver narrowly avoids head-on smash after going down motorway slip road the wrong way

This is the shocking moment a motorist narrowly avoids a head-on crash after driving the wrong way down a motorway slip road. The dark coloured car was seen moments from disaster after being caught on dashcam going against the traffic at a junction on the M8 near Glasgow on Saturday night. The footage, taken by a motorist known only as Matt, showed the car powering towards him as he left the motorway at J27 in Renfrewshire. Video shows the moment the headlights of the other vehicle, which Matt initially mistook for bright street lamps, came into view before he is forced to brake as the other car comes into view. Matt then sounds his horn as the oblivious motorist appears to continue the wrong way down the slip road, having apparently erred by turning onto the exit rather than the entrance to the motorway.

A monkey broke into my house - it nearly sent me bananas! Woman from Wolverhampton is

A woman has been left 'hysterical' after finding a South American marmoset monkey (pictured) in her conservatory. The 'distressed' homeowner called animal rescuers to her home in Wolverhampton after finding a 'strange wild animal with a bushy tail' jumping around her property. Volunteers, expecting to discover a fox or a squirrel at the scene, were shocked when the monkey showed his face and leapt onto the kitchen counter. The marmoset, thought to have been an unwanted pet dumped by his owner, was eventually lured into a cage and sent back to an animal rescue centre where charity Wings and Paws are attempting to find a suitable home after two weeks rehabilitating him back to full strength.
