'Horrific acts of violence' erupted on the Los Angeles campus of the University of California late on Tuesday and into Wednesday morning after a group of pro-Israeli protesters arrived and attempted to dismantle a pro-Palestinian encampment. Shocking footage from the scene at UCLA showed both sides openly clashing as college security abandoned the scene and local police were nowhere to be seen. Just before 11pm local time, the violence escalated when the pro-Israeli side surrounded the pro-Palestine encampment. During this standoff, a firework was thrown at the camp. The video showed both sides using pieces of wood as makeshift weapons. The walls of the encampment were smashed, at least one person could be seen being dragged on the ground by another group.

Daniel Radcliffe (left) has reignited a row with JK Rowling (right) over trans views by saying his beliefs don't have to align with the author's just because she made him a star. The actor, 34, and fellow Harry Potter stars Emma Watson, 34, and Rupert Grint, 35, have been outspoken in their support of gender ideology - that biologically male trans women are actually women. Yet although Radcliffe admitted 'nothing in my life' would likely have happened if not for beloved author Rowling, 58, he said that didn't mean he didn't owes her 'the things he truly believes'. Despite the multi-millionaire's view that trans women are women, just this week it was revealed the NHS will declare sex is biological. It came after the Cass report found there is 'remarkably weak evidence' for gender-affirming techniques in children such as puberty blockers. It also said that  'for the majority of young people, a medical pathway may not be the best way' to help when they are 'presenting with gender incongruence or distress'.

Looking happy and relaxed in the company of Christian Dior model Iris Law, this is Premier League star Trent Alexander-Arnold strolling through one of London's most fashionable areas. Iris, the daughter of Jude Law and Sadie Frost, smiled as she chatted with the England footballer while sipping a coffee as he held a healthy smoothie as they walked along fashionable Portobello Road in Notting Hill. Decked out in sporty but chic clothing, Iris, 23, was making the most of the spring sunshine wearing a long aqua coloured trench coat and baggy jogging pants. Ahmed Alhashimi, 41 (top right with daughter), found himself trapped on an overloaded dinghy, battling for air, screaming and begging people to move when the craft capsized near Calais on Tuesday morning. He told the BBC today how he fought to keep hold of his daughter Sara (left) amidst the growing panic but lost her to the stampede and could not prevent her from being trampled to death. 'That time was like death itself. We saw people dying. I saw how those men were behaving. They didn't care whom they were stepping on - a child, or someone's head, young or old,' Ahmed said through tears. 'I could not protect her. I will never forgive myself. Ellie Goulding has reunited with her estranged husband Ellie Goulding as they spent time with their three-year-old son Arthur in London on Sunday. The singer, who announced their break-up in February, said at the time that they were still the 'closest of friends' and have been 'successfully co-parenting'. The former couple were seen together over the weekend on a rare outing as they proved they are still on the best of terms following their separation.

Sienna Miller stunned fans as she showcased her incredible figure in a £3,900 gown at a star-studded birthday party, just four months after giving birth to her second child.  The fashionista, 42, and her boyfriend Oli Green, 27, welcomed their first child together, a baby girl, in January. Becky Chorlton, from Lymm in Cheshire, purchased the luggage which was found at London Heathrow Airport. The airport holds onto lost property for three months from the date it was found or handed in and can charge you up to £25 to retrieve misplaced items. She cut open the large package and got a shiny blue Delsy suitcase which retails for around £275 at Selfridges (left), meaning Becky already made her money back. Marcus Rashford's new love interest has been revealed as Colombian-born model Erica Correa after he was spotted on a cosy night out with her in Manchester. The Manchester United player, 26, has been single since parting ways with his childhood sweetheart Lucia Loi in the summer of 2023. Leanne O'Driscoll said she had reached 'breaking point' with her weight after trying numerous diets. She was 16st 10lbs at her heaviest, and decided she wanted to make a drastic change. The 43-year-old researched her options and but discovered that weight loss surgery was available in her native Ireland but had a 10-year waiting list. Eager to start her new life, she came across a cheaper alternative, costing £2,400, in Turkey - and the operation was available right away. But what had been a dream quickly turned into a nightmare, with the procedure leaving her body 'vomiting blood' and 'wracked with pain'. Leanne is pictured right in hospital with sepsis.

A guest at a Mexico wedding reception revealed the gender-based four-course menus that left more than 100 invitees terribly ill, with 80 people being admitted to hospital.  Aranza Rodríguez attended the ceremony Saturday night in the central city of Cuernavaca and was rushed to a Red Cross hospital where she was treated for bacterial infection.  Rodríguez told Mexican newspaper Proceso that she was a guest of the groom, Fernando, whose wedding party started around 4pm with dinner set to be served at 6pm.

When she was born at Kensington Palace on May 1, 1964, was seventh in the line of succession. Weighing 6lb and 2oz, she was the first direct descendant of a sovereign in 145 years - since Queen Victoria 's birth in 1819 - to have been born at Kensington Palace. And  the last royal to be born in a palace rather than a hospital. Her father, Anthony was not present for the birth but arrived an hour afterwards. Beaming, he then told the press: 'She's a super baby'. Sarah was two-and-a-half years younger than her brother, David. Her grandmothers - the Queen Mother and Lady Rosse - were among the first relatives to see her. Other family visitors included the Queen and Angus Ogilvy, the husband of Princess Alexandra.

Footage shows the growling lion mounting the lioness as a group of tourists in South Africa watches on, with some covering their eyes while others whip out their phones to film the mating action going on above their heads. In a now-viral video shared on TikTok that has been viewed a staggering 4.9 million times, the US-based woman, Jaime Simpson, is seen lying in bed (left) while her two service dogs, Australian shepherd Echo and golden retriever Everest, are relaxing on the floor. The mom-of-one (with daughter and partner top right), who has epilepsy, was on the verge of an epileptic seizure when the dogs suddenly picked up the scent.

This is the shocking moment a bridge collapsed while a mayor recorded a video addressing the dangers of a storm in the southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. The pressure from the water that overflowed from the Barramansa Stream appeared to pick up strength and suddenly knocked the bridge off its foundation. 'This is our situation. See, being carried away by the forces of the waters,' Santa Tereza Mayor Gisele Caumo said. 'So, I ask you to be careful, cautious, especially when traveling. I ask everyone's full attention to the situation on the bridge.'

Seen from above, the prospective new capital of Indonesia is little more than a network of track roads and concrete exoskeletons today. This is the shocking moment a motorist narrowly avoids a head-on crash after driving the wrong way down a motorway slip road. The dark coloured car was seen moments from disaster after being caught on dashcam going against the traffic at a junction on the M8 near Glasgow on Saturday night. The footage, taken by a motorist known only as Matt, showed the car powering towards him as he left the motorway at J27 in Renfrewshire. Video shows the moment the headlights of the other vehicle, which Matt initially mistook for bright street lamps, came into view before he is forced to brake as the other car comes into view. Matt then sounds his horn as the oblivious motorist appears to continue the wrong way down the slip road, having apparently erred by turning onto the exit rather than the entrance to the motorway.

A woman has been left 'hysterical' after finding a South American marmoset monkey (pictured) in her conservatory. The 'distressed' homeowner called animal rescuers to her home in Wolverhampton after finding a 'strange wild animal with a bushy tail' jumping around her property. Volunteers, expecting to discover a fox or a squirrel at the scene, were shocked when the monkey showed his face and leapt onto the kitchen counter. The marmoset, thought to have been an unwanted pet dumped by his owner, was eventually lured into a cage and sent back to an animal rescue centre where charity Wings and Paws are attempting to find a suitable home after two weeks rehabilitating him back to full strength.
