CARBONDALE — A three-run shot into right field by Steven Loden walked off what had been a safe bet for much of the back half of Saturday’s game, as Saluki baseball (16-7) took the second of a three-game home set against Valparaiso, 13-1, in eight innings at Itchy Jones Stadium.
Southern Illinois has now won 10 of its last 12 games, including a 2-0 start in Missouri Valley Conference play.
