Western Kentucky University’s Grow Your Own Summit

BOWLING GREEN, KY.- Entering the education system isn’t always the easiest thing, but Western Kentucky University is making a change.

Western Kentucky University’s College of Education and Behavioral Sciences held its second annual “Grow Your Own” summit with lunch and the chance to learn the benefits of apprenticeships and how innovation enhances education.

Mae Wilmette, a 5th-grade adult apprentice tells us “From a student perspective, as I am looking through the lens of like my mentor teacher having the program, we can just get those teachers to be well-rounded with all these different experiences so that they can go out and be the best educators that they can be.”
