The pair met in the 1980s at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey, where both regularly performed. "It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship," she later told New Jersey Monthly. "We had a beer together, sat at a table, and talked." That talking led to Scialfa ultimately joining Springsteen's E Street Band — and eventually, marriage and a family.
