A second person is wanted in connection to the missing persons case of Jamilla "Millie" Shanae’ Smith.

Bryan Alexander Hampton Jr., 35, of Augusta is wanted for accessory after the fact to murder in connection to Smith's disappearance, according to a media release from the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.

In December 2023, Smith’s ex-boyfriend, 34-year-old Daniel Gabriel Hamon was charged with murder in connection to her disappearance. Harmon has been in the custody of police since Dec. 5, 2023  following a standoff with police.  The standoff occurred at a residence in the 400 block of Carpentersville Road while police were trying to serve him with a warrant for second-degree domestic violence.

Harmon is also facing charges of kidnapping in connection to the case.

Smith was first reported missing by her family in early December 2023.

Harmon and Smith had a history of domestic violence, and Smith's body has not been found.

Harmon is still listed as an inmate at the Aiken County detention center.

Hampton has ties to the Augusta and Aiken County areas and police are seeking the community’s help in collecting information that would lead to the arrest of Hampton. Hampton is a Black male, approximately 6 feet, 2 inches tall with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with any information in the case or the whereabouts of Hampton is encouraged to contact the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office at 803-648-6811. Tipsters can also send a message about this case online at aikencountysheriff.net
