Calvin Harris' wife didn't forget that Taylor Swift existed — in fact, she has a whole secret ritual with the singer's music.
Vick Hope, who wed Harris (real name: Adam Wiles) in September 2023, confessed on the Monday, April 8, episode of her BBC Radio 1 show, Going Home With Vick, Katie and Jamie, that she puts on Swift's discography when Harris isn't home.
"As soon as my husband goes away, I listen to Taylor Swift," the British TV and radio presenter told her colleagues. "That's just when I get my little fill -- just a little fill. Just a couple of songs, get it out of my system and then it's done."
While Hope didn't name any specific Swift tracks, the 14-time Grammy winner and Harris not only wrote a hit together (Harris' "This Is What You Came For," featuring Rihanna), but there are also multiple Swift songs ("I Forgot That You Existed," "Getaway Car" "High Infidelity" and more) heavily rumored to be about her relationship with Harris, whom she dated for a little over a year between 2015 and 2016.
According to TMZ — as well as fan lore — it was Harris' April 29, 2016 interview that sealed the fate of their relationship. When asked by Ryan Seacrest if he and Swift would ever collaborate, he said the two hadn't "spoken about it," commenting: "I can't see it happening though." It was the same date that Harris and Rihanna dropped "This Is What You Came For," on which you can hear Swift's vocals, and which she was credited under a pseudonym for cowriting. (Swift, for her part, later appeared to reference the drama on Midnights' "High Infidelity": "Do you really want to know where I was on April 29th?")
Days later, while Harris and Swift both attended the 2016 Met Gala, she was also spotted dancing with Tom Hiddleston, whom she later dated.
That July, Harris ranted about his breakup with Swift on X (formerly known as Twitter).
"Hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make ME look bad at this stage though," he tweeted at the time. "I figure if your happy in your new relationship [with Tom Hiddleston] you should focus on that instead of tryin to tear your ex bf down for something to do. I know you're off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy [Perry] ETC but I'm not that guy."
