UPDATEMaxwell S. Anderson was charged with first-degree homicide, mutilating a corpse and arson after prosecutors say he killed 19-year-old Sade Carleena Robinson and dismembered her body

On April 2, a human leg was found in or near Lake Michigan at Warnimont Park in Cudahy around 5:30 p.m.

Initially labeled a death investigation by the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, the case was upgraded to a homicide investigation, and the agency took a person of interest into custody April 4.

Family members of missing woman Sade Carleena Robinson, 19, say they believe her disappearance could be related to the Warnimont Park case. However, authorities have not confirmed whether the cases are connected.

Robinson was reported missing on Monday, April 1, and was labeled "critically missing" by the Milwaukee Police Department. Police say she was last seen in the area of 1800 N. Commerce St. on April 1.

On the morning of April 2, a bystander called 911 after a car caught fire at 30th and Lisbon. Family members told WISN-TV (Channel 12) that detectives said the car was Robinson's. On April 5, another human body part was found near 31st Street and Walnut Street, a block away from where MPD and the sheriff's office were investigating the car fire.

Milwaukee police said body parts were also found on Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7.

The agencies have not said if the leg and the other body part are linked, or if they are linked to Robinson's case.

Here is a timeline of what we know so far.

April 2, 5:30 p.m. ― Severed human leg found at Cudahy's Warnimont Park

Cudahy police were notified around 5:30 p.m. on April 2 after a park-goer found a human leg in or near Lake Michigan at Warnimont Park in Cudahy, 5400 S. Lake Drive.

The investigation was turned over to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office because the leg was found in a county park. The sheriff's office said the leg was found east of the golf course by the pump house.

Initially, the sheriff's office was not treating the case as a homicide investigation, but a "death investigation, albeit suspicious."

April 3 ― Sheriff's office confirms the leg is human

On April 3, the sheriff's office confirmed that the leg found in Warnimont Park was human.

April 4 ― Authorities arrest person of interest in severed leg case

After securing a search warrant, sheriff's office authorities arrested a person of interest in the severed leg case. The agency searched a home on Milwaukee's south side, in the area of South 39th Street and West Oklahoma Avenue, and took the person of interest into custody. The investigation was upgraded to a homicide investigation.

April 5 ― Human body part found one block from car fire

The sheriff's department told the Journal Sentinel that at about 10 p.m. on April 5, another human body part was found, this time at the park near 31st and Walnut streets. This is about one block from the 30th and Lisbon area where the April 2 car fire occurred.

The sheriff's office said they were now working in partnership with the Milwaukee Police Department to investigate the second discovery.

April 6 and 7 ― More body parts are found

Milwaukee police reported on April 6 that unidentified remains were located in the 3000 block of West Galena Street. On Monday, police told the Journal Sentinel that remains had been found on Sunday as well.

April 8 ― Sheriff's department asks for tips

Monday morning, the sheriff's department asked for help in tracking down information related to the severed body parts.

"If you or anyone you know has a CREDIBLE tip or information related to this matter, please dial the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency number to share your information, or download the AtlasOne mobile app through which you can leave an anonymous tip. The phone number in question (414-278-4788) and a QR code for AtlasOne are in the flyer."

Milwaukee Police told the Journal Sentinel that it has not been determined if the remains found on Galena Street were connected to the other remains but that they were continuing their search on Monday.

April 9 — Sheriff's deputies return to Warnimont Park

The sheriff's office returned to Warnimont Park in Cudahy the afternoon of Tuesday, April 9, after someone "came across two items" that the sheriff's office "believes may be related" to the severed leg found in the park April 2, the agency said in a statement. Sheriff's deputies responded to the park.

Robinson's family and friends organized a search party for Tuesday at the park, according to social media posts.

April 12 — Maxwell Anderson charged in Sade Robinson's death

One week after his arrest, Maxwell S. Anderson has been charged with homicide in the death of 19-year-old Sade Carleena Robinson.

The charges confirm what many had grown to suspect in the last week and a half: that human remains discovered in Cudahy on April 2 belong to Robinson, who was reported missing April 1.

Anderson, who was arrested April 4, was charged Friday with first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse and arson.

April 18 — More remains found, linked to Sade Robinson

Several more remains believed to belong to homicide victim Sade Carleena Robinson were discovered along the shores of Lake Michigan early Thursday, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office.

Shortly after 7:30 a.m. Thursday, a person walking along a remote, tree-lined stretch of beach in South Milwaukee discovered an arm and torso, the Sheriff's Office said in a news release.
