A 23-year-old Middleton man faces possible felony charges after leading a Dodge County Sheriff’s deputy on a high-speed chase, with speeds of over 130 mph, Saturday night on Highway 151.
The deputy initiated a high-speed pursuit of a white BMW about 7:40 p.m. on Highway 151, near Salem Road in the town of Calamus, after noticing the vehicle was going faster than the posted speed limit, Sheriff Dale Schmidt said in a statement. The pursuit continued for about 28.5 miles into Fond du Lac County.
The vehicle reached speeds of over 130 mph during the pursuit and almost struck several other motorists. A tire deflation device was successfully deployed, but the vehicle continued to flee.
A trooper with the State Patrol joined the pursuit on Highway 26 in Fond du Lac County and stopped the vehicle with a pursuit intervention maneuver. The driver, who was identified as Gregory Pauly, was arrested on tetative charged of fleeing/eluding an officer and second-degree recklessly endangering safety.

“This pursuit tied up a number of resources and the actions of the driver put the motoring public in harm’s way,” Schmidt said.
The Beaver Dam Police Department, Waupun Police Department and Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office also provided assistance.
