PSA: Hogansville Police warning citizens about utility scam

HOGANSVILLE, Ga. (WRBL) – The Hogansville Police Department (HPD) shared through a post on social media that the department is aware of an ongoing utility scam and warns community members not to fall for the scam.

Police say that the department has received numerous reports about calls requesting prepaid cards to pay utility balances. HPD says the city of Hogansville staff “will never call you regarding your utility payments or outstanding balances.”

Hogansville Police advises community members who receive a call asking for utility bill payments, to contact the Hogansville City Hall or report the call to the police department.
