Omaha police deploy stun gun, arrest man and cite another man during disturbance outside downtown bar
An Omaha police officer used a stun gun on and arrested a 23-year-old man and cited another 23-year-old man during a disturbance outside a downtown bar Sunday night.
Omaha police said officers were monitoring Eat the Worm, located near 12th and Howard streets, when a fight disturbance began outside of the bar.
Officers attempted to detain one of the people fighting, identified as Tylon Newell, who refused to be placed in handcuffs, investigators said.
As officers were attempting to arrest Newell, several people were intervening, with the officers pushing and refusing to back up, Omaha police said.
Investigators said the officers requested help, triggering a help an officer call. Officers were then approached by another man who refused to back up after being told to do so.
Omaha police said an officer successfully deployed his stun gun on the man, identified as Ladon Ross.
Several officers arrived on the scene to clear out the crowd, authorities said.
Ross was booked for disorderly conduct and obstructing a police officer.
Newell was cited for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and obstruction.
