Clinton fire chief set to retire after 35 years

CLINTON, Iowa (KWQC) - The Clinton Fire Department’s fire chief is set to retire.
The community is invited from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. May 31 to a retirement party for Clinton Fire Chief Joel Atkinson at Central Fire Station, according to a media release from the department.
Chief Atkinson has been with the Clinton Fire Department for the past 35 years, the department said. Chief Atkinson has served as fire chief since 2019, and battalion chief from 2008 to 2019.
