2 critically injured in shooting on Indianapolis' east side

The shooting happened late Wednesday near East New York Street and North Sherman Drive.

INDIANAPOLIS — Two people were critically injured late Wednesday in a shooting on Indianapolis' near east side, according to police.

The shooting was reported around 11:45 p.m. April 17 in the 300 block of North Grant Avenue, near East New York Street and North Sherman Drive.

An IMPD spokesperson said officers investigating a report of a shooting found two victims with apparent gunshot wounds. 

Both victims, described in a public police report as one male and one female, were taken to hospitals and said to be in critical condition.

Additional information the circumstances of the shooting has not been shared by police.
