|Scientists in northern Arizona are tracking tree health on the ground using satellites up in space. Researchers from Northern Arizona Univeristy's Eco System Innovation Lab measured, chipped and drilled into Ponderosa Pines and inserted a device to track the data, which is monitored from space.

|The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding the person who hit a man with their vehicle and then took off in Avondale last week. On Friday, a man was crossing Indian School Road, east of El Mirage Road near Avondale, when a driver hit him and then took off. The unidentified victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

|Maricopa County is now hiring temporary workers, more than 2,000 of whom are needed for the 2024 primary election on July 30.In addition to hourly pay, eligible workers will receive a $1,250 incentive. In addition to 1,500 poll workers, Maricopa Elections will need to hire nearly 500 positions to staff operations.

|Five homes were evacuated and horses were set free due to a brush fire that got close to houses in Apache Junction on Tuesday. No word of any injuries. The Pinal County Sheriff's Office is saying the flames are moving northeast.
