The Vallejo Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance to identify a suspect believed to have burglarized a Vallejo business before sexually assaulting a victim at the scene.

According to Public Information Officer Sgt. Rashad Hollis, the department responded to reports of a burglary on March 31 at approximately 7:48 a.m. in the 500 block of Georgia Street.

Hollis said officers determined upon arrival that an unknown male suspect had burglarized the business and subsequently restrained a victim before moving her against her will and then sexually assaulted her.

According to Hollis, the Vallejo Police Department Detective Division then responded to the incident and took over the investigation. At this time, the motive and circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation but detectives have learned that the victim did not previously know the suspect and had no prior connections to him.

“Out of an abundance of caution, the Vallejo Police Department believes it is essential to inform the public that the suspect has not been identified and is currently at large,” said Hollis.

Anyone with information pertaining to this investigation is asked to contact Detective Bradley Phillips at (707) 648-4514 or Bradley.Phillips@cityofvallejo.net, or Detective Jarrett Tonn at (707) 648-5427 or Jarrett.Tonn@cityofvallejo.net.
