The Columbus Indiana Philharmonic and the Philharmonic Chorus performed a section from Johannes Brahms’ “Requiem” at First Christian Church. The performance was titled “Comfort and Joy,” and was directed by David Bowden.
1999
The 21st Living Way of the Cross on the grounds of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in North Vernon presented a reenactment of the suffering and death of Jesus of Nazareth. Organizers estimated that around 600 people gathered for the 80-minute, mostly outdoor ceremony.
1974
A Monopoly marathon at The Commons aimed to set a new world record of 120 solid hours played. The marathon lasted for five days and students rotated, playing four at a time so others could rest.
