Nebraska leaders expressed their condolences for the loss of a Ceresco police officer who died in a crash on Friday night.Related coverage in video above: Nebraska State Patrol provide update in investigationRep. Don Bacon sent his thoughts and prayers to the Village of Ceresco, and Officer Ross Barlett's loved ones."Our prayers and thoughts are with the family of Officer Ross Bartlett, who was killed in a multi-car crash Saturday evening. Officer Bartlett served the Village of Ceresco not only as a peace officer but, but as a volunteer firefighter. We join those who knew him in grieving his loss."Congressman Mike Flood remembered Barlett's sense of humor as well as service to others.“Ross’ service in law enforcement took him to multiple communities in our state, including Madison, where I personally worked with him and respected him. In addition to his career as a peace officer, he loved being a volunteer fireman and had a great sense of humor. Mandi and I are keeping the Bartlett family and law enforcement community in our thoughts and prayers as we grieve his passing and this devastating loss.”Gov. Jim Pillen remembered Bartlett as a public servant.“This is a terrible loss for those who worked with Officer Bartlett through NDCS and those in the community who knew him through his law enforcement work. He was a dedicated public servant who answered the noble call to serve in various communities throughout his 30-year career,” said Gov. Pillen. “I am ordering that all flags be flown at half-staff starting immediately until 5 p.m. on the day of Officer Bartlett’s burial.”Lancaster County Sheriff's Office took to social media to mourn the loss of fellow officer.Saunders County Sheriff's Office sent condolences to all of those who have worked with Bartlett.Grand Island Rural Fire Department posted on Facebook, sending thoughts and prayers to those who were impacted by Bartlett.Lincoln Police Department remembered Bartlett, saying, "our hearts are broken."Fremont police shared their condolences to all affected by Barlett's death.All Kearney police officers adorned their badges in mourning Barlett's death."On behalf of the entire Kearney Police Department, we extend our deepest sympathies and offer heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, community, coworkers, and all those impacted by the tragic loss of Ceresco Police Officer Ross Bartlett, killed in the line of duty while serving his community. We, along with agencies across the entire State of Nebraska, wrap our collective arms around Ceresco PD during this difficult time. All Kearney Police Officers will adorn their badges with a mourning band in honor of Officer Bartlett until he is laid to rest."Sen.
