Ashley Stokes began the weekend by posting a record-tying assist total and ended it with a personal-best scoring effort.

It all led to the first career weekly honor for the senior midfielder from the Colorado women’s lacrosse team.

On Monday, Stokes was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week after her high-scoring performances in the Buffs’ home wins against Arizona State and Kent State. It was the fourth weekly honor for the Buffs this season, as Madeline Pisani also collected an Offensive Player of the Week honor while Jess Peluso has earned a pair of defensive weekly honors.

After scoring a career-high six goals the previous week against UC Davis, Stokes continued her hot streak by recording seven assists against Arizona State, tying CU’s team record. Stokes added another career-best performance in Sunday’s win against Kent State, scoring seven goals while posting four more assists. Stokes became the first CU player to record 11 points in one game since Darby Kiernan in 2018.

CU (10-4, 4-1 Pac-12) scored a season-high 20 goals in both games. Stokes has recorded 13 goals and 13 assists in the past three games.

Despite the two wins, CU dropped one spot to No. 21 in this week’s IWLCA top 25 poll on Monday heading into Sunday’s huge road battle at No. 22 USC (1 p.m. MT, Pac-12 Los Angeles). The Buffs and Trojans are tied for second in the Pac-12, with the top two spots in the league receiving first-round byes for the conference tournament.
