UPDATE: Danville police announced Monday that Kevin Flight, 44, of Danville is in custody and facing preliminary charges in the April 7 shooting of a 17-year-old thanks to information provided by the public regarding his whereabouts.
Flight was taken into custody around 4:45 p.m. Friday after Danville police served a search warrant in the 900 block of Fowler Avenue.
The incident remains under investigation.
DANVILLE — An arrest warrant has been issued for a 44-year-old Danville man who allegedly shot a 17-year-old on April 7 in Danville.
The warrant charges Kevin Flight with aggravated battery with a firearm.
Danville Deputy Chief Terry McCord said the 17-year-old was shot multiple times and is listed in stable condition at a local hospital.
McCord said investigators learned the victim was shot in the 900 block of West Fairchild Street and taken to the hospital.
Flight is described as between 6 feet and 6 feet, 3 inches tall, weighing about 210 pounds.
“Flight is considered armed and dangerous,” McCord said. “He is a solid suspect in this case. I can’t release anything else. It’s too new.”
