STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Staten Island’s High Stone weed dispensary is bringing a new kind of marijuana to its customers —one that is Method Man approved.
For those who may not know, Wu-Tang Clan’s Method Man started a cannabis brand called TICAL, offering a variety of pre-rolls, buds and gummies based on locations that vary across 11 states. The name of the brand might ring a bell for die-hard fans who listened to Method Man’s 1994 solo album of the same name.
High Stone is the first shop to carry TICAL products on Staten Island, and you can buy them right now.
“They’ve [the Wu-Tang Clan] been kind of the celebrities who’ve always repped Staten Island, so that’s one reason why I wanted to bring it on our shelves. Another reason is [that] Method Man is part of the community; we see him quite frequently. He’s familiar with some of the High Stone staff, and he couldn’t be more friendlier, so, you know, we just wanted to kind of give back to what Wu-Tang, Method Man, TICAL, have done for Staten Island,” High Stone Logistics Manager Matt Guido said.
High Stone’s website allows customers to choose between three different TICAL products, which include a one gram preroll called Judgement Day that features a sunset sherbet and wedding cake flavor; a one gram preroll called Love Jones that features a kombucha and alien apple kush F2 flavor; and a 3.5 gram flower of Judgment Day that features a kombucha and alien apple kush F2 flavor.
Guido says that High Stone is “working on an ASAP delivery service,” meaning as soon as you place your order through the website, the delivery trucks are going to be on the road depending on the availability. It could be as quick as half an hour, he said, unless you indicate that you would like the delivery at a later time.
“We’re trying to be as convenient as can be—more convenient than you’d find in a delivery service with your food,” Guido explained. “We want to be there as fast as we can.”
High Stone had been in discussions with TICAL to carry their line of products since July of 2023, months before the shop would even become operational. Ongoing legal battles have continued to delay openings of dispensaries all across New York, but Guido believes that Staten Island was “the forgotten borough” yet again in terms of dispensary openings.
“Our…three services that came online pretty much [came on at] the same time, so Staten Island went from none to three in like a few weeks,” He said.
Guido credits the Wu-Tang Clan for never letting the nickname stop them from promoting their home.
