ROCK COUNTY, Wis. (WKOW) -- The Rock County Sheriff's Office is investigating a crash that happened Saturday afternoon that killed three people and hurt several others.
According to a press release from the office, the three-vehicle crash happened at Highway 12 and E County Line Road in Lima Township.
Officials say a passenger van was driving east on E County Rd, approaching Highway 12. The driver did not stop at a stop sign and entered the intersection. The van then crashed into the front of an SUV.
The press release says as the van and SUV collided, a truck pulling a fifth wheel trailer was hauling hay northbound on Highway 12. The driver side of the trailer crashed into the front of the van. Two female adults and one male adult were thrown from the van. Officials say those three people died at the scene.
The driver of the van and the driver of the SUV have non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the truck was not hurt.
There were four additional passengers from the van that were taken to nearby hospitals.
One of them, an adult female, was transported via Med Flight with life threatening injuries. The others have severe but non-life threatening injuries.
The Rock County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash. No criminal charges have been filed at this time.
The names of those who died will be later released by the Medical Examiners Office.
Family members have identified Ericka Berg as one of the victims. A GoFundMe has been set up for her family.
