ROCK COUNTY, Wis. (WKOW) -- The Rock County Sheriff's Office is investigating a crash that happened Saturday afternoon that killed three people and hurt several others.

According to a press release from the office, the three-vehicle crash happened at Highway 12 and E County Line Road  in Lima Township.

Officials say a passenger van was driving east on E County Rd, approaching Highway 12. The driver did not stop at a stop sign and entered the intersection. The van then crashed into the front of an SUV.

The press release says as the van and SUV collided, a truck pulling a fifth wheel trailer was hauling hay northbound on Highway 12. The driver side of the trailer crashed into the front of the van. There were four additional passengers from the van that were taken to nearby hospitals.

One of them, an adult female, was transported via Med Flight with life threatening injuries. The others have severe but non-life threatening injuries.
