HABITAT HOME WALLS

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two local organizations are working together to build homes for people in need.

The Building Industry Charitable Foundation and Building Industry Association of Greater Louisville are partnering with Crossroad Ministries and Help Build Hope to build three homes.

The groups started constructing the walls on Wednesday.

Some of those walls will be used for a Habitat for Humanity home in Louisville. The others will go toward building two homes for storm victims in Mayfield, Kentucky.

"Partnering with Help Build Hope is one easy way that we can give back and not just help the people here in Jefferson County who need housing, but also contribute to a place where we know so much tragedy happened and people are still without homes in that area," said Juva Barber, executive vice president of BIA.

More than 120 construction professionals helped cut, construct and deliver the wall sections during the event.
