Culpeper Police are seeking a man described as armed and dangerous in the reported shooting of a juvenile Tuesday night in the Belle Parc area of town.
Around 9:03 p.m. on April 16, Culpeper County E-911 Center received multiple calls reporting a shooting in the area of Vantage Place and Highview Court, a dense residential neighborhood off James Madison Highway.
On the scene, Culpeper Police Department officers located a juvenile suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot injury, according to a release Wednesday afternoon. The suspect, identified as Elmore Taylor Jr, 24, of Culpeper, had fled the area by the time police arrived.
Officers provided medical aid until the juvenile could be safely transported by EMS to a local hospital. The juvenile was later released from medical care.
Taylor and the juvenile knew each other, according to police. The juvenile was socializing with acquaintances at Vantage Place when Taylor passed nearby. A verbal exchange escalated into a physical altercation, police said.
