The City of Janesville is thanking Council President Paul Benson for his exemplary service and commitment during his service on the City Council.
Benson concluded his final meeting Monday.
Benson was first appointed to the council in 2019, was elected vice-president in 2021, and has been president since 2022.
The Janesville City Council unanimously approved a resolution recognizing Benson for is loyal and conscientious service at their meeting this week.
Benson highlighted several accomplishments he is particularly proud of, including adding hundreds of housing units to Janesville and reducing the City’s debt burden through a shift to increased cash financing for infrastructure initiatives, such as street rehabilitation, utility programs, and facility projects.
