Williamsville man pleads guilty to theft of merchandise from stores
A Williamsville man pleaded guilty Friday in State Supreme Court to stealing several thousand dollars worth of merchandise from two retail stores on four different dates, according to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office.
David J. Miller, 60, faces a maximum of seven years in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced June 14 as a second felony offender, prosecutors said.
Miller pleaded guilty before Justice M. William Boller to one count of third-degree grand larceny, two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny and one count of petit larceny.
According to prosecutors, the thefts occurred between June 9 and June 20. None of the merchandise that Miller stole in the first three transactions was recovered, which resulted in a loss of $12,916 to the retailers. The property from the fourth transaction was recovered and returned to the retailer after Miller was arrested June 20.

As part of the plea, Miller is required to sign a confession of judgment for each retailer, as well as a trespass notice for each retailer, which legally bars Miller from entering either store in the future.
