Relay season is a very important time of the year-round track calendar.
The early part of April sets the tone for championship season farther down the line in the school year. Built around the Penn Relays schedule, the spring relays as a perfect chance for teams to sort out just exactly what kind of team they will have through the dual meet and Championship season in May and early June.
Coaches can experiment with lineup. Younger runners can show their talents in a competitive environment. Stars can be born out of what before the season started was only potential.
