KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A jury on Wednesday convicted a Kansas City man of multiple felonies following a beating at a Kansas City store.

The jury convicted 55-year-old Lydell R. Walker of second-degree kidnapping, second-degree assault, first-degree assault, two counts of armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm.

The conviction comes after an April 1, 2021, incident.

According to court records, Walker committed the crime in broad daylight in front of the store as several witnesses watched. Those records said Walker’s beating of a victim included pointing a gun at an innocent bystander and pulling the trigger. Despite pulling the trigger, the gun did not fire a bullet.

Walker will be sentenced on June 13.
