Benicia softball wins with gem from Maas

The American Canyon High baseball team defeated Sonoma Valley 8-4 on Tuesday.

The Wolves were led in the win by Mason Harris and Sovann Som, who each had two hits and an RBI. Harris raised his average to .433 on the year after 19 games.

Spencer Watson pitched five innings and allowed five hits in the win.

Dylan Brown and Andre Lopez also had two hits each for the Wolves, who improved their record to 11-8 overall and 4-3 in the Vine Valley Athletic League with the win.

Benicia 3, Campolindo 0

The Benicia High baseball team defeated Campolindo 3-0 on Tuesday behind a one-hitter from Dominic Louro.

Louro pitched seven innings and struck out five batters. He walked two.

Peyton Rowles had two hits including a double, while Wyatt Miyamoto had a hit and two RBIs. Nash Rubins had a hit and scored a run while AJ Cabral had a hit and an RBI.

Benicia is 11-5 overall and 3-0 in the Diablo Valley Athletic League.

Vallejo 9, Mt.Diablo 8

The Vallejo High baseball team defeated Mt. Diablo 9-8 on Tuesday in a nonleague game.

The Redhawks improved to 10-4-1 on the season with the win.

De Anza 8, St. Pat’s 3

The St. Patrick-St. Vincent High baseball team lost to De Anza 8-3 on Monday.

Bo Smith had two hits in the loss. Matthew Thacker had a hit, while Sergio Urias and Madden Mendez had RBIs.

St. Pat’s is 8-8 overall and 0-5 in the Tri-County Athletic League.

Softball

Benicia 5, Clayton Valley 0

Sinead Maas threw a complete-game, three-hitter and Benicia High’s softball team defeated Clayton Valley 5-0 on Tuesday.

Maas struck out eight batters in seven innings and walked one.

Vanessa Smith led the Panther offense with two hits and an RBI. Ava Rojas also had a hit and drove in a run.

The Panthers improved to 9-1 overall and 1-1 in the Diablo Valley Athletic League with the win.
