HOUSTON (KIAH) – A weak cold front will pop some strong thunderstorms in North and Central Texas Thursday. Some of those storms will drift towards Southeast Texas Thursday evening, but they will also be fizzling at the same time. That means most of the Greater Houston area probably won’t see much rain just yet.

Another cold front arrives this weekend. Ahead of it, a few scattered storms are possible during the day Saturday, but the main widespread batch of rain sweeps through late Saturday night. Some rain could linger Sunday morning, but it gradually exits during the day.

Behind the front, we’ll enjoy cooler and drier air for a couple of days with highs in the 70s Sunday and Monday.
