A 19-year-old Madison man has been charged with capital murder in connection with a March 23 murder investigation.
According to Huntsville police, Malcolm Jacob Derr has been arrested and is currently being held at the Monroe County Pennsylvania Correctional Facility. He is awaiting extradition back to Alabama.
Derr was arrested in connection with the Saturday, March 23 shooting death of Joseph Collins, 18, of Madison.
The shooting happened at around 10:45 a.m.. Officers found Collins dead from gunshot wounds on Lakewood Drive.
Major Crimes Investigators later learned Malcolm could be in the Pennsylvania area and communicated with the U.S. Marshals, where he was taken into custody on Thursday.
