Raiders Re-Sign Guard Jordan Meredith

The Las Vegas Raiders made a crucial move by re-signing guard Jordan Meredith, who not only helps with much-needed depth but could also be in the run for a starting spot.

The Las Vegas Raiders are returning a key backup to their offensive line room.

The club announced Monday that it has re-signed offensive guard Jordan Meredith. Meredith is now the third guard currently on the roster, joining Dylan Parham and Ben Brown.

The 26-year-old guard has been with the Silver and Black for the last two seasons. Meredith was signed by the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2021 before being waived as part of 53-man roster cuts. The Raiders signed Meredith in February, 2022.

Las Vegas would waive Meredith twice before eventually signing him to its practice squad. The club released him less than a month later. The Cleveland Browns then signed him to their practice squad that November but released him later that month.

The Raiders signed Meredith again that December, and he has remained with the club since. After playing just one game for Las Vegas in that 2022 season, the Raiders signed him to a reserve/future contract.

Meredith played in every game in the 2023 season, even getting a start in the Raiders' 63-21 pummeling of the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Raiders' re-signing of Meredith is crucial for a team that still lacks depth and could be searching for a starting guard if Greg Van Roten leaves in free agency. It is likely Las Vegas will add to its O-line group through the draft, but returning an experienced asset is always a good thing.

Meredith played at Western Kentucky, where he spent five seasons (four active). He played 49 games for the Hilltoppers, making 36 consecutive starts in his final three seasons. Meredith was named to the All-Conference USA Second Team for his 2020 campaign, his final with the program.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently have the No. 13 overall pick.
