Bands on the Beach

7 p.m. Tuesday, April 16. Gulfside Pavilion at Casino Beach, Pensacola Beach. Bands on the Beach is Pensacola Beach's popular outdoor summer concert series with performers for every musical taste. Featuring a lineup of regional artists, the series delivers an eclectic musical experience throughout the entire summer. This week features Bay Bridge Band. Mellow Mood

Melissa Etheridge

7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 16. Saenger Theatre, 118 S. Palafox St. Known for her confessional lyrics and raspy, smoky vocals, Melissa Etheridge has remained one of America's favorite female singers for more than two decades. Etheridge stormed onto the American rock scene in 1988 with the release of her critically acclaimed self-titled debut album, which led to an appearance on the 1989 Grammy Awards show. Etheridge hit her commercial and artistic stride with her fourth album, Yes I Am (1993). The collection featured the massive hits, "I'm the Only One" and "Come to My Window.” Tickets start at $59. Pensacola Beach Crawfish Festival

1 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. Saturday and noon Sunday, April 19 through 21. Bamboo Willie's Beachside Bar, 400 Quietwater Beach Road, Pensacola Beach. The Pensacola Beach Crawfish Festival returns to Bamboo Willie's and this year promises to be the best one yet. Gallery Night

Gallery Night Pensacola is a nonprofit organization with a dedicated goal of inspiring culture, engagement, and the practice of arts of all types in an entertaining event for all ages and walks of life. Memphis May Fire

The Drowsy Chaperone

7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 19 through 21. With music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison and a book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar, “The Drowsy Chaperone” is a multi-Tony award-winning musical with its original Broadway run starting in April 2006. Written as an homage to the American musicals of the Jazz Age, the story revolves around The Man in Chair, a mousy, agoraphobic Broadway fanatic who, in an effort to cure his ennui comes home every night and listens to a recording of his favorite 1928 musical comedy, "The Drowsy Chaperone." Mullet Man Triathlon

7 a.m. Saturday, April 20. Flora-Bama Lounge & Package, 17401 Perdido Key Drive. The 26th annual Mullet Man Triathlon has proven to be a definite addition to the annual Interstate Mullet Toss and Gulf Coast’s Greatest Beach Party. The triathlon is open to many categories and features a day on the beach, in the water and on the path that is great for family viewing or participation. Grillin’ in the Breeze

11 a.m. Saturday, April 20. Shoreline Park, 800 Shoreline Drive, Gulf Breeze. Grillin’ in the Breeze is a competitive grilling event where patrons enjoy delicious and creative concoctions hot off the grills featuring live music, a silent auction and interactive children’s activities while raising money for the Santa Rosa Education Foundation's Take Stock in Children Scholarship and Mentoring program. Pensacola Beach Beer Fest

3 p.m. Saturday, April 20. Hampton Inn Pensacola Beach, 2 Via De Luna Drive, Pensacola Beach. Enjoy the third annual Pensacola Beach Beer Fest. Many award-winning breweries will be serving up their delicious creations with live music by the Funkheads, local art, and special appearances by the McGuire’s Pipe Band and the UWF Argonauts. Gumbo Ya-Ya Cook-off

4 p.m. Saturday, April 20. Seville Quarter, 130 E. Government St. Amateur and professional teams will compete for bragging rights for the best gumbo in Pensacola. Each individual gumbo will be judged on taste, smell, color, and consistency. Trophies will be awarded to the top three winners. In addition, there will be a showmanship trophy given for best decoration and entertainment, as well as the coveted People’s Choice trophy. $15 in advance; $20 at the door. Pensacola Symphony Orchestra’s Season Finale

Palafox St. Pensacola Symphony Orchestra’s season closes in a riot of rhythms as the orchestra performs George Gershwin’s Concerto in F, with pianist Orion Weiss, and Ralph Vaughan Williams’ A London Symphony.
