WASHINGTON (7News) — A Howard University student and a faculty member are injured after a pedestrian-involved crash on the university’s campus Thursday evening, according to Howard University officials.
D.C. Fire crews, Howard University’s Department of Public Safety (DPS) and Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officials responded to reports of a crash at the intersection of Fairmont and Sixth Streets, Northwest around 3:48 p.m.
The driver was determined to be a faculty of the university and the pedestrian was identified as a student, university officials said.

Both were taken to a hospital and are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.
The student succumbed to his injuries Sunday night. University officials identified him as Mohamed Samura, a freshman, Computer Information Systems major from Fredericksburg, Virginia.
