Man charged with reckless driving after being accused of hitting vehicles
THE LATEST:
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia Police investigators say 56-year-old Vergil Glover now has new charges added to his case.
Glover is now not only being charged for DUI and assault on officers but also with 2 counts of assault and battery-1st degree.
He is also accused of trying to run over two investigators at the EZ Spot on Farrow Road before leading officers on a chase.
During his bond hearing, a judge revoked his bond.
Glover will stay at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center until his new charges are presented in a General Sessions Court at a later date.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A man is being charged after being accused of hitting vehicles at a EZ Spot just before 3 p.m.
Columbia Police say 56-year-old Vergil Glover is accused of hitting vehicles at the EZ Spot on Farrow Road around 3 pm., not complying with officers on scene and driving away.
Officers say Glover was followed to a S. Pickens Street home and refused to get out the vehicle.
He was taken to a local hospital as a precaution and an officer has a non-life threatening injury to his hand.
Glover is being charged with hit & run attended vehicle x2, failure to stop for blue lights & sirens, assault on officer while resisting arrest x3, reckless driving, DUI, driving under suspension & open container.
Police say additional charges are pending.
