GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - A recount that started on Friday morning ended in the early morning hours of Saturday with the same result. Incumbent Alderperson Steven Campbell has lost to challenger Joey Prestley.

The race in question was Green Bay’s District 6 City Council which happened earlier this month.

As we’ve reported based on results from the spring election, incumbent Alderperson Steven Campbell lost to challenger Joey Prestley by just 15 votes.

“My whole goal when I got in was to bring people together, bring the neighborhood back together. Really make it what it is. And creating those kinds of projects like the slow down one,” said Campbell on Friday night.

“I just want to see what the results are,” said Prestley on Friday. “I don’t think it’s going to change very much. But you know my opponent, the aggrieved party, has the right to do this. So, I am glad that he did.”

According to the recount’s posted agenda, four voting wards were up for a recount, followed by a canvass of the results.

District 6 covers a northeast portion of the city.
