Minor in Health Information Management

HIM MinorHealthcare data and its use to create better patient outcomes can be found in most health professions, whether directly or indirectly. The minor in Health Information Management helps prepare students for this aspect in a health-related career by providing a broad overview of health informatics and health information technology (IT). This minor is particularly good for students who will be pursuing a Master of Science degree in Health Informatics.

Admissions Requirements

The Health Information Management minor requires completion of 18 semester hours of course work. Students must contact the Health Information Management program office for admission to the minor, and must have a 2.5 GPA to qualify. All courses must be completed with a grade of C or better.
