East Hartford man killed in multi-vehicle crash on I-91 in Rocky Hill

I-91 south in Rocky Hill has reopened after a fatal car crash sent multiple people to the hospital on Saturday night.

ROCKY HILL, CT (WFSB) - A man from East Hartford has died after a multi-vehicle crash that left three people injured on I-91 south in Rocky Hill on Saturday night.

Rocky Hill Fire Department responded to a multi-vehicle crash with reported injuries at 11:52p.m. on I-95 south near Exit 22S in Rocky Hill on Saturday.

The driver of an Acura Tlx Tech rear ended a tractor-trailer and crashed into an Acura Tlx Tech a+ that was nearby.

Police reported that the driver of the Acura Tlx Tech+a veered into the right shoulder, crashed through a guardrail, went over the embankment, and hit another guardrail.

The driver of the Acura Tlx Tech hit a guardrail on the interstate’s shoulder.

Connecticut State Police, Rocky Hill EMS, Rocky Hill Police, and the Connecticut Department of Transportation responded to the scene.

The driver of the Acura Tlx Tech+a was later identified as D’andre Miguel Charles, 25, of East Hartford.

Authorities reported Charles suffered from serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and two passengers in the Acura Tlx Tech were transported to St. Francis Hospital for minor injuries.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured and declined medical treatment.
