SURVEILLANCE VIDEO: Houston police looking for two men wanted for stealing car with 10-month-old inside

Suspects also wanted in second car theft the day before

HOUSTON – The Houston Police Department has released surveillance video of two separate robberies in hopes that someone can identify the suspects accused of stealing vehicles from their victims, including one where a 10-month-old was inside the car.

The first incident happened at 3:45 p.m. on Feb. 24 at a parking lot near Buffalo Speedway and 610.

In this incident, the victim was sitting in her vehicle in the parking lot when she was approached by a man asking if she wanted to buy marijuana. She told him she did not and the man left. The victim waited until he left before getting out of her vehicle. As she walked toward her building, she looked back and saw two men running at her. One pulled out a gun and demanded her car keys. Both men then took her keys and fled the scene in her vehicle.

HPD released surveillance video of this specific incident.

A separate incident believed to be related happened at 6:55 p.m. on Feb. 25 at 2701 West Bellfort Avenue.

In the Bellfort Avenue incident, a woman had just arrived at her apartment complex with her two children, 10 months and 1 year of age. As she took her 1-year-old to their apartment and was returning to her vehicle, she saw the two men in her vehicle. backing out of the parking spot. The victim chased the men on foot and, as she tried to cut them off, she was struck by the vehicle. The men drove out of the complex parking lot with her 10-month-old child in the car.

The infant – in a car seat – was later located unharmed by witnesses in the 8900 block of Lakes at 610 Drive. The mom was treated for minor injuries.

Investigators believe the two incidents are related, due to the locations being close to each other and the suspect descriptions in both incidents are similar.

The suspects are believed to be in their mid-20s and have slim builds. One suspect has short hair and wore a green shirt and dark-colored bottoms. The other had a twists hairstyle and was wearing a dark gray top and dark-colored bottoms.
