Treasury Yields Fall Ahead of U.S. Jobless Claims Data

Treasury yields decline but remain on path to end the quarter higher after hotter-than-expected U.S. inflation and activity data in the past few months convinced markets the Fed wouldn't be able to cut rates as fast as previously thought.

Monetary policy remains dependent while investors mostly bet on a first 25-basis point cut in June. Weekly jobless claims are expected to increase tomorrow, which would indicate labor markets are cooling. PCE inflation is due Friday, with markets closed for the holiday.

Today, the 10-year yield falls 0.038 percentage point to 4.195% and the two-year declines 0.029 p.p. to 4.568%.
