ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WNCN) — The Raleigh Police Department helped get the word out on Tuesday about an endangered 87-year-old man who went missing from Rocky Mount who has connections in Raleigh.

The Rocky Mount Police Department reported Benjamin Franklin Branch as missing and endangered in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

As of an update just before 3 p.m. Tuesday, Branch had been located, Raleigh police confirmed.

Police released the following photo as a means to identify Branch, who was believed to be suffering from a cognitive impairment at the time he went missing.

According to his missing person’s alert, Branch was driving from the Raleigh area eastbound on U.S. Hwy. 64 when his car became disabled. He and his vehicle were towed to the Capital Ford Lincoln dealership on Stone Rose Drive in Rocky Mount.

After leaving that dealership, Branch had not been seen until he was located later on Tuesday. Police have not indicated when he was last seen at the dealership, if it had been hours or days, but CBS 17 did reach out for that information and has not heard back.
