Police investigating after girl shot in Dayton Sunday
Apr. 15—Dayton police are investigating after a girl was shot at an apartment early Sunday afternoon.
The shooting was reported around 12:20 p.m. in the 400 block of Bowen Street.
A female juvenile was shot, according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch.
"There's a 12-year-old girl that just got shot upstairs," a 911 caller told dispatch.
He said he didn't know if the girl was breathing. He told the dispatcher he heard a gunshot and then people screaming, according to dispatch records.
Details on the girl's condition were not available.
A person of interest was identified, but it was not clear if they had been taken into custody, according to dispatch.
