Most of the students who will be graduating from college this spring were seniors in high school when the COVID pandemic hit.

Their schools were closed for months at a time, and now some of those kids are getting another chance to relive their missed high school days.

When the world shut down, seniors missed out on those final moments.

And while graduations and other momentous occasions were rescheduled or held in a different format, a lot of proms were just canceled.

Many of those students are now about to graduate from college, but before they do that, they have one last dance to attend.

They're getting a second chance at prom at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

Senior class president Gracie Nelson says she wanted to make this last year memorable and decided to recreate the senior prom that so many of her classmates missed out on.

"I think you don't even realize how much you've lost until you watch, like, the freshmen. And you're like, oh, my gosh, you didn't get any of that. And so I do think that, while I've had the best four years and really wouldn't change any of it. I think there's a new excitement about graduation and events and things like this," she said.

For a class that's rather resilient, they've seen a lot in these last few years, so this was one way to bring them together.

It was also a good reason for some of the students to break out the dress that's been hanging in the closet for the last four years.

It was popular. They sold 800 tickets to the redo prom.
