Electronic tracking device leads York police to bank robbery suspect
York police say an electronic tracking device led them to a bank robber.
Annette Santos, 31, is in the York County Prison after she allegedly robbed the Fulton Bank on South George Street on Monday afternoon.
According to court documents, Santos threatened a bank teller with a note that said, "Give me the money in the register, or I am going to shoot you."
Santos made off with more than $4,000, police said.
Almost immediately, police detected the signal from the tracking device.
Witnesses reported Santos got into a waiting car and was driven away. Police tracked the car to a location about six blocks from the bank.
Police arrested Santos and recovered the money. Police said they did not find a gun.
While the tracking device was a big help, police said they also have video and multiple witnesses that connect Santos to the robbery.
"We were on her right away, and the cameras and everything else. I think we would have just as good a chance without it," Det. Sgt. Kyle Hower said.
Santos is not cooperating with investigators, police said.
The driver of the car is not believed to be an accomplice.
