ASP: One dead, nine injured in Wynne block party shooting

Wynne (KATV) — One person is dead and at least nine others were injured after a shooting at a block party in Wynne.

According to Arkansas State Police (ASP), the shooting happened just after 10pm near the near the corner of Williams Avenue and Martin Luther King Street.

At least two of the victims were run over by vehicles at the scene.

Varian Campbell, 27, of Wynne was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to the hospital.

The other victims who were transported to several area hospitals have not been identified. Their ages range from 24-49.

Authorities believe additional injured individuals may have been transported to hospitals in private vehicles.

The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the incident with the help if the Wynne Police Department.
